The Russian occupiers are massing forces in the area of the Kinburn Spit. This area is of great strategic importance. That is why the Defense Forces are draining the enemy here and preparing opportunities for future liberation.

Serhii Bratchuk, spokesman for the Ukrainian Volunteer Army "South", said this on the air of the "United News" telethon.

What the occupiers are preparing

According to Serhii Bratchuk, the Kinburn Spit is important for the enemy because its control will allow them to shell the Kutsurubska and Ochakivska communities. In addition, the goal of the occupiers in this area is to occupy the Dnipro islands. That is why the Russians carry out 5-7 assaults here every day.

"These are airborne operations, boats, sabotage and reconnaissance groups that try to infiltrate the islands and establish a foothold there. On the Kinburn Spit, the enemy replenishes personnel, replenishes weapons and, as far as I know, has even brought some boats from the flotilla located on the territory of the temporarily occupied Crimea," the Ukrainian Volunteer Army spokesman said.

Ukrainian response

In turn, the Defense Forces of Ukraine are attacking the enemy using artillery and FPV drones, as well as conducting raids by the Main Intelligence Directorate units. Serhii Bratchuk claims that liberating Kinburn Spit from the occupiers would restore the operation of the seaport in Mykolaiv.

"Whether to liberate Kinburn or not is not on the table. It’s only a matter of timing and the alignment of the available capabilities and resources," he stated.

As a reminder, the President's Office explained what Volodymyr Zelenskyy's Victory Plan envisages and what steps will help to force Russia to stop its aggression. In particular, it is about providing more long-range missiles and allowing them to be fired deep into Russian territory.
