Active hostilities in Ukraine may end in the spring of 2025. At least, this is the opinion of Vitalii Kim, the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration.

The head of the Mykolaiv region said this in an interview with Novyny-N.

"I want to believe it will be approximately between January and March. Well, let’s say not until March, but until April. Somewhere in this timeframe, from January to April," Vitalii Kim said.

Other forecasts for the end of the war

It should be noted that The New York Times believes that 2025 would have been a year of peace talks regardless of who won the US presidential election. According to the newspaper's columnist Julian Barnes, the main reason for this is the lack of troops on both sides and the growing difficulty in mobilizing additional reserves.

Also, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that peace talks on the war in Ukraine could begin this winter. Poland plans to take an active part in potential negotiations, as it will lead the European Union on the principle of rotating presidency.

As a reminder, Novyny.LIVE asked Odesa residents how they see the war ending. We also reported whether Russia is ready for negotiations and what the EU's sanctions pressure can do.
