A resident of Kherson region was served a notice of suspicion of high treason. The investigation believes that he passed the geolocations of ship docking sites in Odesa to the enemy. The objects he "handed over" later came under fire.

This was reported by the Prosecutor General's Office and the SSU.

Spied on ships

According to the investigation, a 22-year-old man traveled by regular buses across the Donetsk, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Vinnytsia, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, and Chernivtsi regions during September and October. He posed as a serviceman and collected data on the locations of air defense systems, addresses of military hospitals, recruitment and conscription centers, television towers, phone numbers of Defense Forces unit commanders, and geolocations of civilian ship berths in Odesa port. He passed this information to his handler, a representative of the so-called "DPR."

Some of the targets he identified were later hit by Russian missile strikes. In return for his services, the agent received payment and was promised a position with the Wagner PMC. Upon completing his tasks, he was assured he would be evacuated to Russia.

Punishment for the spy

The Military Law Enforcement Service, together with the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), detained the man in Odesa. He is currently in custody without the right to bail and faces life imprisonment with asset confiscation.

As a reminder, in the Kharkiv region, a woman was tried for informing the Russians about the locations of Ukrainian Armed Forces units. Additionally, a Russian sabotage group was detained in the Odesa region.
