Australian ships will defend Odesa region — details

The Australian government will provide Ukraine with 14 highly maneuverable RHIBs with a rigid hull. They will strengthen the country's maritime defense.

This was reported by the Australian Ministry of Defense.

Help from the southern hemisphere

The ministry noted that the latest military aid package worth $14 million should "strengthen Ukraine's maritime and coastal defense, which is an important operational area for the Armed Forces of Ukraine".

"Australia remains committed to supporting Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression. It is in Australia's interest, and it is the right thing to do", said the country's Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles.

What is known about boats

Sentinel 830R is a rigid hull inflatable boat manufactured by Sentinel Boats. They can be used to perform tasks in both riverine and offshore waters. The boats can be deployed quickly and require minimal maintenance.

"These Australian Defence Force naval boats will provide Ukraine with high-speed and highly maneuverable maritime capabilities," the Ministry of Defense reported.
