During the nighttime shelling of the Odesa region, the Romanian and Spanish military aircraft took to the skies. However, enemy drones did not enter the airspace of the neighboring country.

This was reported by the Romanian edition digi24.

What do we know

Residents of the Romanian border county of Tulcea called the emergency number three times to report drone traffic this night. Two Spanish Air Force F-18s took off from the air base to observe the drones. Later, two more Romanian F-16 fighter jets took off from the Borca Air Base.

"The Romanian radar surveillance system did not detect the intrusion into the national airspace of the drones involved in the attack on the Ukrainian targets," the statement said.

Shelling of Izmail

As a reminder, at night, Russians shelled Izmail district with drones. Two truck drivers were wounded, a Turkish citizen among them. The victims are in moderately serious condition in the hospital.

The Orlivka checkpoint was also temporarily closed due to Russian shelling.
