A vessel stolen by Russia is under attack near Crimea

A Ukrainian drone hit the Russian tugboat Fedor Uriupin in the temporarily occupied Crimea. This vessel belonged to Ukraine and was stolen by Russians during the annexation of the peninsula.

This was reported by the Crimean Wind Telegram channel.

Consequences of the impact

The channel's sources report that the drone flew into the side of the tugboat above the waterline. The vessel did not sink, but was damaged. It happened in a bay near the village of Chornomorske on the Tarkhankut Peninsula on the western coast of Crimea.

The Ukrainian military has not yet commented on the report.

What is known about the vessel

The tugboat Fedor Uriupin was built in 2010. During the occupation of Crimea in 2014, it was appropriated by the Russians. In 2015, Russia used the vessel to tow drilling rigs off the coast of the peninsula. Recently, according to Crimean Wind, the tugboat has not been in use.
