Ukrainian partisans declassify ship that attacked Odesa

An agent of the ATES guerrilla movement discovered the Admiral Makarovcruise missile frigate. This vessel was damaged by the Ukrainian Defense Forces. It is currently being kept under guard in Novorossiysk.

Frigate in hiding

Partisans reconnoitered the naval base of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Novorossiysk. There are warships, patrol boats, and supply vessels there that the enemy has redeployed from the temporarily occupied Crimea. Among them was the Admiral Makarov frigate, a carrier of Kalibr cruise missiles. According to the ATES, it is under a high level of security.

"Machine gun posts have been set up along the coastline to defend against drone attacks. Ammunition is being loaded at the docks, indicating preparations for new operations," reported the partisans.

What is known about the ship

Admiral Makarov is one of the newest ships of the Russian Federation. It was launched in 2017. After the start of the full-scale invasion, it took part in the shelling of Ukraine. In particular, it attacked oil refineries near Odesa and Vinnytsia. The latter killed 27 people.

In October 2022, the Admiral Makarov was severely damaged during a Ukrainian drone attack on the Black Sea Fleet base in Sevastopol.
