Another tax evasion scheme was uncovered in Odesa. This time, the director of a grain wholesaler was put on trial. As a result of his actions, the state budget lost 14.7 million UAH.

This was reported by the press service of the Territorial Department of the Bureau of Economic Security in the Odesa region.

What happened

According to the investigation, during the first quarter of 2024, the company received 15 thousand tons of wheat worth more than 81 million UAH. The company was supposed to export the products through the ports of Odesa region to the Seychelles.

The amount of products actually sold and the company's income were many times higher than the director indicated in his tax return.

What will happen to the businessman

The case against the head of the company was sent to court. He is accused of tax evasion on a particularly large scale. This crime is punishable by a fine of 255 thousand UAH to 425 thousand UAH with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years and confiscation of property. It should be noted that the unpaid tax has already been returned to the state.

Previously, in Odesa region, the director of a company set up a fictitious legal entity to illegally export agricultural products from Ukraine.

In addition, a cargo of grain that was attempted to be exported abroad without any documents was detained in the port of Odesa. As it turned out, the exporting entrepreneur was systematically evading taxes.
