Power substations in Odesa are only half protected
Only 50% of strategically important facilities in Odesa are fully protected from Russian attacks. The remaining ones urgently need to have shelters completed. However, there are currently no resources available for this.
This was stated on the air of the Kyiv24 TV channel by Ukrainian MP Serhii Nahorniak.
What the MP said
According to the politician, he arrived in Odesa with worse expectations, but now he feels more at ease about the city. This is because half of the strategic facilities are protected from enemy strikes.
"Actually, half of all the facilities that are of strategic importance for Odesa and the Odesa region are 100% protected. Not 90%, not 80%, but 100%," said Serhii Nahorniak.
At the same time, the second half, according to the deputy, requires immediate work. Specifically, this concerns the electrical substations. International partners should be involved in the construction of shelters.
"We need to urgently find resources. It's important to show these facilities to our partners so they can see where their resources are also going," emphasized Serhii Nahorniak.
As a reminder, members of the Verkhovna Rada checked the condition of protective structures at substations in Odesa Oblast. The commission had to assess their current condition and determine further steps to ensure the energy security of Odesa region. It should be noted that stabilization blackouts have been introduced in the region due to damage to energy infrastructure facilities.
