The Russians regularly shell the ports of Odesa, thereby endangering international food security. In order to document the crimes of the occupiers, a special mission of the International Maritime Organization will be sent to the region.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha stated this at a joint briefing with colleagues from the Baltic and Northern European countries in Odesa.

International mission

According to the minister, Ukraine has officially appealed to the International Maritime Organization to urgently send a monitoring mission to the ports of Odesa.

"We must stop the aggressor, show the unity of the international community in opposing barbarism, and record every crime in order to bring Russia to justice," Andrii Sybiha said.

The terror of the occupiers

"Here, in Odessa, Russian terror is particularly felt. Colleagues had the opportunity to see the consequences of barbaric Russian shelling. Russia organizes attacks on civilian ships and port infrastructure," the minister said.

Andrii Sybiha reminded that only in the last month the Russians fired at four civilian ships. Among them are those that took grain to Egypt and humanitarian aid to Palestine. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Ukrainian ports have suffered more than 50 attacks, and more than 100,000 tons of agricultural products have been destroyed.

"These are not just hits on our economy, they are blows to international food security," the government official emphasized.

It should be reminded, that the expert Andrii Klymenko told what new tactics the Russians chose in the Black Sea.

Oleg Kiper, the head of Odesa RMA, also called the most effective response to Russian attacks on the port infrastructure.
