Weakened but dangerous — the UK assessed the Russian fleet
During a thousand days of full-scale war, the Russian Black Sea Fleet lost about 25% of its largest ships and was forced to withdraw to the eastern part of the sea. But it still plays a certain role in Russian aggression against Ukraine.
This was reported by the Ministry of Defence of the UK on Wednesday, November 20.
Enemy losses
According to reconnaissance, before the start of the full-scale invasion, the Black Sea Fleet had a significant advantage over the Ukrainian Navy. But the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed or disabled almost a quarter of the large warships, including the fleet's flagship, the cruiser "Moscow". Due to Ukrainian strikes, the Russians had to withdraw ships from occupied Sevastopil to Novorossiysk.
The danger remains
At the same time, British reconnaissance believes that the Black Sea Fleet remains a dangerous factor for Ukraine.
"Despite the fact that the activities of the Russian Black Sea Fleet are currently limited to the eastern part of the Black Sea, it retains the ability to deliver long-range strikes on the territory of Ukraine, supporting ground operations," the British Ministry of Defenсe notes.
Previously, it was reported that the command of the Black Sea Fleet with its families is fleeing from the occupied Crimea. In addition, it became known why Russian ships are avoiding the coast of Odesa.
