In recent days, the Russian Federation has been increasing the number of warships, including missile carriers, in the Black Sea. Today, 24 vessels are on duty. One of the objectives of the increased presence is to put psychological pressure on Ukrainians.

Serhii Bratchuk, a spokesman for the Ukrainian Volunteer Army "South", said this on the air of the national telethon "United News".

The goal

According to the spokesperson, the missile launchers have been on duty for several days. The threat is real, as the Kalibr missiles have indeed been used in attacks on Ukraine.

"This is a reinforcement, including psychological. They say, look, the ships with Kalibr are at sea, they will take part in possible attacks," noted Serhiy Bratchuk.

Security for Ukraine

The UDA spokesperson emphasized that the only response to the threat from the sea could be strikes on Russian naval bases. First of all, we are talking about the port of Novorossiysk.

"Today, Novorossiysk is the port of basing for missile carriers, the part of the Black Sea Fleet that is still "on the move". The port of Novorossiysk is also a large oil terminal. This is oil that works for the enemy's resources, for the war. We must strike at these sources of Russian aggression. I hope there will be something to do," says Serhii Bratchuk.

The spokesman reminded that last year the Ukrainian Defense Forces had already attacked the port of Novorossiysk. The Olenegorsky Gornyak landing ship was damaged.

As a reminder, the Russians have increased the number of ships in the Black Sea. And according to British intelligence, the Black Sea Fleet, although significantly weakened, continues to pose a threat to Ukraine.
