Russia considers itself a powerful naval power, but in fact its naval forces cannot influence the course of the war in Ukraine. Real combat operations have shown the weakness of the Russian Navy.
This was stated by Dmytro Pletenchuk, spokesman for the Ukrainian Navy, on the air of the United News telethon.
The situation in the Black Sea
According to the naval representative, the forces that Russia has in the Black Sea are not capable of having a serious impact on the situation at the front.
"My colleagues in the intelligence services can answer this question more professionally. I can say that any level of readiness and any number of units cannot really influence the course of hostilities in our theater," Pletenchuk noted.
Can Russia strengthen the Black Sea Fleet?
The spokesman suggested that the Russians would not send more ships to the Black Sea via the inland waterways. After all, the occupiers cannot even handle the ships they have at their disposal.
"As for other water areas, such as the Mediterranean, they can't get there either," Pletenchuk emphasized.
